I went to Hawaii..
Booked through Expedia, Do they offer anything?
Credit Card Company is Chase
Is there anything my Insurance can do? I have full Home Coverage.

You should have gotten a police report from Hawaii.

Also, Chase may have some kind of insurance. Talk to them and ask what’s their policy. I assume that you used the card to purchase there. You might be able to get a refund.

i already asked this in the health section but no one answered so please answer..i really need help.

okay so I live in Hawaii and I’m on vacation in washington and i’m going home on the 27th. anyways i think i have a bacterial eye infection, and i wanted to see a doctor but i don’t know if they’ll accept my insurance…it’s HMSA…does anyone know if they will accept it and if not will it be expensive? or do you know any home remedies that will help?

Call the insurance carrier and have them refer you to a physician where you are at. I’m sure they also have urgent care centers there, I’m sure they will bill you and not require payment up front.

i bought a ring in hawaii on vacation and at the time i had a bandage on my finger. i bought a ring that fit over the bandage, which was stupid. now that i’m home and the bandage is gone the ring is too big. can i take it to a jeweler and have them make it fit? and how much approximately will is cost? thanks!

Yes, most jewelers will do that (however go to a privately owned jeweler, not somewhere like Kay or Zales–make sure they do their repairs on location). It shouldn’t cost too much. Also, they have little clear plastic things that you can put on the underside of your ring so that it takes up the space that’s vacant. Go get a few estimates on how much it’ll cost. Note that sometimes it’s worth choosing the one that’s not necessarily the cheapest–go for the best value: good work for a good price.

i definitely want to move back to hawaii where i was born. how else can i get there other than the military. from what ive heard it seems impossible, im not looking for a vacation home, im cool with a dinky little apartment, and so how hard was it for you to move there?

I was born in Maui, Hawaii and raised in California. I moved back to Maui 5 years ago. It was not hard for me to move back. There are so many young adults who live in Hawaii. There are lots of people who rent out rooms for rent. For me it was easy because I have lots of family out here. But other young people rent a room at a house that a family lives in or a bunch of young adults live in. You can view the classifieds for the newspaper. My local newspaper for island of Maui is mauinews.com or you can try the honolulu advertiser. Or craigslist is another good resource. There are plenty of jobs too. You just apply all over. Don’t be picky. I worked at a surfshop and restaurant when I first got here. They didn’t pay much, but then I got better jobs eventually. You’ll love it here too. It is a nice community. People are friendly if you are. Good luck!

I own one home, would like to buy another, maybe a rental, but not sure where. Also looking at Hawaii for a vacation home, but perhaps I don’t have enough to do that…. thoughts?

I would put it into a mutual fund such as a Tax Free muni bond found.

Or, if you like real estate, something like Excelsior Real Estate Fund, UMREX.. or TAREX

I am planning a vacation and i am trying to decide if i need to pack a snow coat or will a light windbreaker i use at home in hawaii will be sufficient enough that time of year as i am staying at circus circus hotel.
Please answer in farenheit rather than celcius.

Pack a light weight coat if you plan on being out during the evenings. The day time weather is still real pleasant, you can still wear short sleeves but it does get cooler once the sun goes down. Right now it is 47 degrees and September is a much warmer month than March. Fall is my favorite time of year here. Sorry I can’t give you actual temperatures but hopefully this helps. As you get closer to your trip check our local paper’s web site www.rgj.com for weather info and ideas of what to do while in town in case you have free time.

My boyfriend and I are going to be vacationing in Hawaii in the near future, and since it is a rabies-free island, dogs are not permitted unless they have been quarantined for an extended period of time on the islands. We are planning on leaving him with my boyfriend’s brother, who the puppy is familiar with and really likes. He’s a seven month old, 2 pound chihuahua who is used to being with me 24/7. He goes everywhere with me, sleeps with me, and sits on my lap whenever I am sitting. Whenever we go somewhere we can’t bring him…a night out etc…we leave him home and he won’t touch his food or water no matter how long we’re gone, but he sprints to it the second after he greets us when we get home so I know he is hungry and not eating. Should I be worried if we leave him for 2 weeks? I’m sure he will be okay and adjust, but I don’t want to make him think we are abandoning him or something like that…I’m starting to think I’m overthinking this, but I wouldn’t mind hearing some other opinions for peace of mind! Thanks.

If possible, you might want to take him over to your boyfriend’s brothers house and feed him with everyone there so he might be better able to adjust.
Honestly, if you trust who you’re leaving the dog with, it’s not a big deal. I hated leaving my dog when I went to France for two weeks. She was a little annoyed with me when I got back, but was absolutely fine the next day. I even had to leave her for a month and a half, with no problems.

Now, I usually spend about 6,000 United States Dollars on my heating bill. Take note I have a rather large house. Now, I am looking for some ways to save money. Any Ideas? Remember we are in a financial crisis so ONLY MERE NECESSITIES. I am thinking something cheap like "spending thirty million dollars on a vacation home in Hawaii for two weeks." That sounds like a reasonable cause. Now to get my friends *cough* *taxpayers* *cough* money to pay for it. Does this sound reasonable? If it does you should elect me president.

ahh another person who doesnt understand how renting works. the house is worth 30 million he paid around 40000 to stay there for the week. so now as you dont understnad how renting works i dont believe you own a house

My best friend is really nice and cool, but pretty much every guy, including juniors and seniors (we’re freshman), like her because they think she’s hot. Normally I wouldn’t mind too much, but now its really starting to get unfair. She’s always getting the oppurtunity to go jet skiing, boating, going to prom, etc because all these guys like her. There’s even this one guy at school who is really rich and asked her if she wanted to go with him and a few of his friends to his vacation home in Hawaii for spring break (of course, her parents wouldn’t let her though). I’m not mad at her, because she’s still an awesome friend, but it gets annoying how guys only like a girl if they think she’s really hot. What should I do to stop being jealous?

I know, guys look at the physicals first, if they like how the girl looks, they go for it. And try to get with her and try their best by giving her prizes, like going out with them, or letting her try this and that until they catch her.
But don’t be jealous, all these guys are probably thinking "one" thing if you know what I mean — and if she wasn’t as hot, would they even go for her.
I am pretty sure you are cute yourself, and there is one guy out there that truly likes you. Love yourself first and be proud for who you are. And be nice with your friend. Be happy for her even if he gets on your nerves sometimes.

Like for me, my best friend got engaged yet I am still in my relationship with my guy and he still won’t propose. Though I am sure he can if he wanted to. But he still wants to be able to "browse" the market.

Good luck.

Based on all of my past experiences, black people are untrustworthy.

NOW HOLD ON JUST A SECOND AND LET ME TELL YOU WHY.

When I was younger, I would spend part of my summer at my vacation home in Hawaii. We had a housekeeper there (who was of African-American descent, yes,) Well one time, she asked me to open a safe that was in the house because she left something in there. (Give me a break, I was like 6.) So I did, and she stole quite a bit of money.

Then sometime when I was 8, we were Yachting around the Labadee area when my dad docked to go meet someone. So I was on the boat alone when a bunch of people (All African) jumped onto the boat and told me to unlock the door. I was smarter so I told them no, and they kept trying to bribe me with a "big surprise." Eventually they left after I called my dad but that’s still a bad memory.

Anyway continuing on! One time, on a flight back from Hong Kong, I was waiting at the reception for them to call me to board the plane. There was another traveler (Guess what? African!) sitting next to me at the waiting area. He told me that my boarding pass was invalid because it was red-colored. I didn’t know any better because I was like 9 so he offered to exchange mine with his so that I wouldn’t get into trouble. And I did. Eventually they found out because all of the flight attendants had to memorize the first class passengers’ names and he wasn’t a little asian kid.

And here’s what made me write this article today!
I was going home from a concert in Philadelphia, and I wanted to take a cab to my car since I was in a pretty bad area. Sure enough, a cab pulls up and I asked the driver if he could take me to "so and so," and he said yes. (By the way guess what his skin color was..!). Once I strapped myself in, he turned off the car and said, "The meter’s broken. It’s $100 to X." I was pretty scared at that point because he looked like he had a gun with him so I agreed. (It was like 3 streets away too.. go figure.)

I could go on and on because apparently the only time when bad things happen to me is when there are black people around.

I’m not being racist, I’m being realistic. From my point of view at least.

I feel that I have every right to make this generalization considering that this is only less than 1% of the things that happened to me involving people of African descent.
Yeah I mean I’m sure I’m gonna get a lot of hate for it but come on, I was still in elementary school when the first two happened. And I picked these events for a specific reason. They weren’t the most traumatic (believe me.) and they certainly weren’t the most life threatening, but they occurred at very different areas. One in Philly, one in Hawaii, one in the Caribbean, and one in Hong Kong for crying out loud. Is this merely a coincidence? Or is this just inherent nature?

And I’m not singling out black people either. I’m sure there’s a white person in Sweden who hates Asians because all of the above applies to him except the perpetrators were all Asian!
I might seem racist but I really am not at all. I’m not a flaming liberal either but I am accepting of all people (except for black people at this moment, I’m SORRY.) When I think back to times when I was in danger or when someone has taken advantage of me, all of the events, YES ALL OF THEM, can be traced back to a person of African descent.

It’s very extreme but I can’t do anything about it. I didn’t ask them to take advantage of me!

I’m not saying that other races are greater of that Asians are the master race either. I’m just saying that, from my experience, black people are untrustworthy to me. It’s a touchy topic but I feel very strongly about it because of the myriad of events that led me to this conclusion.

And I don’t just associate all black people with "bad or evil" either. I give everyone a fair chance, but it seems that black people let me down the most.

Yes. You’re wrong for generalization such a large race.
Just because of a few mishaps with people of this race, doesn’t mean that every single person who is African American is untrustworthy. There are well over a billion African people on this Earth. You can’t say that these people are untrustworthy because they are African. Anyone can be untrustworthy. It’s a matter of personality, not skin color. That’s like saying all American people are fat because you saw a few overweight American people walking the streets. It’s not fair to generalize such a large group of people like that.

This year has been a bit different and challenging – you can call it my "eat, pray, love" year. I took a break away fr. my major (competitive to get into), got a new job (completely different than what i’m normally used to), and I went through a breakup. It wasn’t just any breakup though. I’ll be in my mid 20′s and for most my life, i’ve always been single. Just didn’t feel as if I "needed" a bf and I’m also intuitive when it comes to if I’ll be able to sincerely care for someone or not; i’m also cautious about committment (not about being faithful but I love being independent). My ex pursused me for a long time, despite me having no desire for committment. He proved to be a good, genuine person and I felt that he was right and saw potential in him as a person, a partner, and possibly a long lasting relationship. He and his family/friends say i was "everything he wanted in a girl" and was completley different than his younger, immature, and dramatic exes. Things were going well – i never held him back but was never a doormat either. Then one day, he decided he "didn’t want a girlfriend right now" because he felt like being "selfish". There was no 3rd party. It was a big let down…completely. immature and just felt as if it were a waste of time. He texted me the next day reitirating his apology but i never looked back – never talked or seen him.

It’s been about 4 months and i’m doing better. There were times when it hurt and I would get a bit biter/angry, and emotional. We didn’t date for a long time but it just affected my self esteem and attitude. Within the past 3 months, I worked hard at the new job, met people, kept busy and worked 5-6 days/week, got into scrapbooking more, spent more time w. friends, went out at night more, worked out (LOST 13lbs! :) , and even went to dinner w. a gentleman i met at a wedding. My family had been planning a vacation to hawaii for months now and i’m thrilled bc i get to spend time w. family whom i haven’t seen in years (and have yet to meet). The last time i went was when i was 16 and this may be icing to my "eat pray love" year in finding myself. Before leaving, I couldn’t help but have this strong feeling that when i get back, everything for me will just change…it wasn’t a bad or good feeling…just a strong intuition that things won’t be the same when i get back from vacation.
- I’ll be a completely different person. I was comfortable where my life was at and didn’t want furthur changes. I also had this bitersweet feeling that my memory of my ex will be erased…almost like a distant memory…which is what i’ve always wanted and prayed for but it makes me sad. We have a few days on the trip and i’m getting that feeling again…surprisingly things have changed – i noticed i’ve changed (family members have noticed), i found out i got into nursing school this coming fall (which is HUGE). I still had that feeling that things would be completely different when I got back. Also, halfway through the trip, i was becoming "tired" from the vacation. I’m back home now and it feels weird. I definitely miss my family but being at the house feels different, the weather’s cooler (not like hawaii; if anything it feels like summer’s over now) and it feels as if I’ve been gone for SOO LONG, i’m different/changed but it also feels like I just boarded on the plane yesterday – the whole vacation was a dream. I changed when I was in that relationship; i changed after the relationship ended; i changed when i was healing from all that hurt and now i’m a completely different person after this vacation. Thing is, this isn’t my first time traveling (did last summer as well) yet this year, i’m soo affected – why am i feeling this way?
Why do I feel this way?

Because it’s a vacation.

It’s a break from the Norm.

My wife struggles with this as well. When we went to New Zealand for our honeymoon for 3 weeks. Things didn’t start happening till late in the 2nd week. It even happens when we tarvel to other cities. We were headed overseas for a month long trip to Africa and we went to a travel doctor. She explained that some peoples bowels take some time to adjust to the water. A change in water can apparently throw your body off. She prescribed some soluable fibre and said to use if it got too bad or painful.

this summer(june) i will be going to hawaii for vacation but i will most likely resort asking to go home early unless i cant find a fix for it. well i will be 18 by the time of the trip , i’m not a stay at home teen(party alot and stuff) so I would really like to have fun and meet people in hawaii but unfortunaly I will be sharing this trip with no friends,or my sibling close to my age but with a grade school sibling and my dad that i’ve seen like 4 times within the past 9 years . i cant seriously spend a whole 2 weeks just with them, trying to ignore them, without going out, and on top of that miss the opportunity of been in such a tigh place without been able to spend it with the people or how i want. helppp? please

no mean comments
karma happens

i wish my family wouldve taken me on a nice vacation when i was 18. you should be thankful you have a dad who wants to spend all that money on you. you should either try to go and have a good time and not be so selfish or tell your dad ‘dont even bother wasting your money on bringing me on an amazing trip cuz i am going to act like a brat and ignore you the whole time and try to find ways to go out and party and make trouble."
i dont know if that’s a mean comment but you sound very spoiled and disrespectful of your family so there you go.

We are rlooking at renting a house on the Big Island and wanted to know if anyone has stayed there. When you google Lako House it comes up many times "Large 4 bedroom vacation rental home; Pool/Jacuzzi, panoramic ocean views located in Kona, on the Big Island of Hawaii; house sleeps up to 22 people." Hawaii and Bush gets beat up for going HOME to his Crawford ranch for Christmas? Especially when Obama tells the rest of us we must do without? The hypocrite, they all make me ill and the journalists who report this crap.
It’s not Obama’s house. You just don’t get it do you? Obama certainly ACTS as though he is president already doesn’t he? Press conference everyday… He is a lying Marxist.
Gee, I think he rented it and others, for millions just for fun you see. I guess all those unidentified campaign contributions come in handy after all.
Check my facts? Now I AM laughing!

blame the liberal(socialist) media

We LOVE tourist stuff.
We like to see sites and go on adventures.
We do NOT like to just sit around on vacation. (You can sit around at home for free!)

We need more information. Which island(s) are you going to visit? Each of the islands has its own unique traits and all of the major islands (Oahu, Kauai, Maui, and the Big Island) offer different things to do. Here is a quick and dirty list. Hope it helps!

Oahu:
Climb Diamond Head
Go to the Arizona Memorial in Pearl Harbor
Take a catamaran ride off Waikiki Beach
Try Aoki’s shave ice on the North Shore
Take the trolley to Hilo Hattie in Honolulu
Visit the Waikiki Aquarium/Honolulu Zoo/Kapiolani Park
Watch the sunset from Duke’s at the Outrigger Waikiki

Big Island (Hawaii):
Drive down Chain of Craters Road in Volcanoes National Park to see flowing lava
Thurston Lava Tube (also in Volcanoes Nat’l Park)
Punalu’u black sand beach — please don’t take the sand!
Green sand beach at Ka Lae (south point)
Boogie Board at Hapuna Beach
Get an ocean front massage at the Mauna Lani
Place of Refuge (Pu’uhonua O Honaunau)

Kauai:
Take the zipline and/or innertubing tour with Kauai Backcountry Adventures
Hike or just sightsee in Waimea Canyon
Snorkel at Ke’e Beach
Take the Kauai Movie Tour
Kayak the Wailua River
Have saimin at Hamura’s in Lihue

I don’t know much about Maui, sorry.

I’VE GOT A 3WEEK SCHEDULE 4 MAUI, HAWAII BUT I NEED 2 BE BACK IN 2 1/2 WEEKS!

Chances are that you can’t, without paying for an earlier flight, in which case you will NOT get a refund on your scheduled flight.
However, the depending on the airline, it might be possible to get a free transfer. To find out if you’re allowed, you should contact the airline.

Situated in an exclusive gated community, this oceanfront home, presented by Hodnett Cooper, is one-of-a-kind.

The main house consists of five bedrooms, three and one-half baths, a formal living area, dining area, two dens, and a large eat-in kitchen. The master suite located on the second floor boasts an amazing ocean view!

This large home is perfect for a family gathering. The pool house has a small kitchen, a full bath, and a living area with a murphy bed. Beach access is just a short walk away.

Im going to Hawaii in a few days and Im going to have my boyfriend check up on her everyday. Will she be looking for me? She doesn’t really like my boyfriend so she might get bored. When Im at school my mom said she goes to my room and meow till she falls asleep on my bed until I get home. I don’t want her to feel neglected so what can my boyfriend do to entertain her?

He should get some toys and extra food at a local pet supermarket. This is a great chance for your little cat and him to be friends. 1st have your BF take the kitty in a room were he and the cat can get used to each other. Then have him bring some toys in and after he plays with the cat, have him put some food and some treats out for the cat. Then he can watch some tv with the cat so they can get comfotable together. :)

I would like to surprise my fiance with a nice vacation in may to las veagas. He has done so much for me but, with wedding and purchasing a new home. it leaves us low on money. My and my husband are celebrating our anniversary by taking an 8 day vacation to Hawaii and I would like to make sure my kids can reach me when they are at home ! Thank You

yes it does. I used AT&T cell phone while I lived there and my family who was on the mainland also used AT&T. We had great connection. Hope you have fun.

I own a condo in Hawaii along with 2 silent partners. We have been struggling to keep up with the mortgage since our revenue has dropped off considerably. The mortagage is in my name only. If we were to default would the bank place a lien on my primary residence and/or assets?

Because it’s an investment property, only an attorney for that state can answer your question.
