To those of you who have done both…which did you enjoy most?
I’m torn between booking a NICE high-end hotel OR a vacation rental condo. With the condo, it’d be more like an apartment, but with the hotel, it’d be nice, but likely just bed and toilet.
Do you want to feel pampered & enjoy all of the ammenities? Then go with the hotel. If you want to spread out, settle in, & do a bit of your own cooking to save a few bucks, then the condo is a better bet.
Swim and snorkel with a myriad of sea life within our protected outer reef. Play on the adjacent sandy beach. Observe whales, dolphins and turtles from your spacious private lanai. I have two options, I am seriously considering.
I am going through a divorce, I ended up with a condo and the condo’s hefty mortgage. My spouse, he ended up with the rest of the rental properties and the businesses.
I have started my own business, and it is getting quite a few leads, but I am behind on some of my payments and curve ball a bit… nothing that cant be reinstated with some steady work.
My profit margins are high, and it can grow fast. But I live on an island where its tough even in a great economy.<br>
Im very interested in the Hawaii national guard and I have years of experience in Information Technology. I could try steer towards that MOS, dependant on my ASVAB scores etc
I also wish to complete the final two years of a BS in accounting. None of which I can afford on my own. I figure I an defer active duty for a couple of years while studying and building biz.
Whats your thoughts on the matter…. military… or not??? Kinda going down…
Do your best to sell the condo and get a more affordable place (tough in Hawaii, I know – we’re getting ready to move there). My husband is in the military and it’s great for us but make sure that you’re prepared to be deployed and ready to make that sacrifice, you may not be sent but you still need to be mentally okay with that if you’re even going to consider the military.

I don’t know anything about CRH. Renting a condo is my favorite place to stay,but it is sometimes a challenge to find all of the condo rentals available. Many are privately owned or timeshares and they are not listed on regular travel booking websites. Sometimes you can find the privately owned ones on Craig’s List.
Aston is one of the major hotel chains that has time-share resort condos listed on booking engines. You can either go to their website or try any of the major travel booking engines like travelocity, expedia, orbitz,to see where you can find the best deal.

Unit 118 at Honokeana CoveWe are spending one month in Honolulu. This is the first time that we are considering renting a condo instead of staying at the hotel. I have confirmed reservations (without a kitchen), but I can cancel if needed.
I currently have three choices. :
444 nahua st. (1 bdrm)
The Ilikai 1777 Ala Moana blvd (1 bdrm)
The Windsor 343 Hobron (2 bdrm)
My husband will work in Pearl Harbor during that time frame so I want to be near the touristy areas without all the night time noise.
Since I’m not in Hawaii, I’m hoping that one of you can give me more info (pros/cons) with these locations. I welcome any accommodation recommendations.

For location alone, I would go with Hobron. It is on the edge of Waikiki & near Ala Moana & is more residential in nature. It will be a little less zoo-y than Waikiki. The Ilikai is on the main drag, but may have better views. Nahua is not in the best section of Waikiki.

How did you chose your destination?
Where are you or where did you go?
I’m just asking because my fiance and I were up late discussing possible honeymoon destinations and places we’d love to go, his parents have a condo rental in mexico(time share thingy), but they can trade with people if they want. They have said that they will pay for a week in cabo, cancun, or puerto vallarta, and if they can swap they said maybe either hawaii or even somewhere in the carribean(though my fiance doesn’t really want to fly too far away). On top of it we kind of want to tour europe(I’ve been and would love to go back, hes never been)….
So kinda up in the air still, so i’m just curious about how others chose where they went! Thanks!
He just doesn’t want to spend a good portion of our trip on a plane.
We discussed Australia and its not out of the question, but its unlikely.
My fiance doesn’t like beaches and I’m not big on international travel – - I speak no foreign languages, airfare is sooo expensive, and fiance hasn’t given in to my nagging him to get a passport either.
The ideas I am lobbying for as a honeymoon destination are: Mississipi River Cruise
Cruise to Canada & New England (if he gets his passport)
Southwest – Arizona mostly and a bit of New Mexico (i’ve been to the area and love it, he hasn’t been and I really want him to get to see it).

Canadian Rockies train tour (he needs that passport again – any wonder why I’m nagging him?)
