My 2 1/2 yr old son’s father and I are not together. I have physical custody of our son. WE both have joint LEGAL custody!
Im planning a trip with my now fiance and my son to go to Disneyland this summer. We live in Hawaii. Ive avised my sons father of this trip over a month and half ago. He told me at that time it is FINE for me to take him, he trusts me and it sounds very very fun! I have documentation of this via text message me sent me to my phone.
Noiw he’s trying to tell me that I cannot take our son on vacation to Disneyland without his concent. This was NOT discussed at the court hearing. The reason why is because he, and his parents want to take my son on vacation in September to San Francisco. None of them are residents of the US. He is a resident of the Philipines. I am very nervous for him to take our son on vacation out of state, because of this main reason. I feel he may try to take our son and I will never see him again! Also, my sons father cannot even properly put a car seat in a car. He goes on vacations all the time, at least once a month. He acts as if he cannot pay child support, but as stated before is on vacation all the time! When he goes on these vacations, he does not check on our son, or anything. He will go sometimes 2 weeks without even coming to see him, or call him. This is not acts of a responsible parent! Whenever my son is left in his care, I call AT LEAST 2 times a DAY!
I need to know what exactly I can do at this point, since Ive already booked the hotels, and other accomodations for this vacation. Should I try to seem legal advise? Or go to the courts? Is this even valid? He is the type that threattens me ALL the time he’s going to take me to court for things. CONSTANTLY! So, I feel like he is wasting the courts time. Whenever he doesnt get the answer he wants, he goes to the courts, and seeks Legal Aide. Im the one struggling and I cannot even get Legal Aide because its a conflict of Interest now!
I end up having to request off work and this ALWAYS happens! Please can someone help me?
Since you have proof that he agreed to this, take your son on vacation. If his father stirs up trouble about it, remember he’s skating on thin ice and you have the blow torch.
One bedroom (additional sleeping capacity on sofa bed in living room). This unit is tastefully decorated and located on the end of the building for those wishing additional solitude. High vaulted ceilings. King size bed with air conditioning in the bedroom. 209 was recently renovated with a new bath, kitchen and beautiful cabinetry. All units are fully equipped with Cable TV, DVD, CD player, washer/dryer, and well furnished kitchens.

I want a vacation for my husband and I but I don’t know the first thing about planning a vacation. We have so many different accomodations we want so it’s hard for me to just look it up. We want something thats all inclusive, adults only (not nude or anything just NO KIDS), and it’s got to be the beach! Hawaii or Mexico or the bahamas. So I thought about going through a travel agency but I don’t know how that works? Do they just book everything and set everything up for you and charge you a fee or what?

I work in a hotel in las vegas as a concierge on one of the 5 star hotel here and I have always do a good job like, im pleasant, I the town pretty well..anyway..we work for tips a lot of people in a hotel, restaurant business work for tips..Being a concierge for 2 years now. I have not ever got a tip more than 5 bucks from the people from UK or European countries.. is that just their culture? oh and the reason why I got my $5.00 is because, i booked a Flight to hawaii for them 5 people and a hotel accomodations for 5 days, made dinner reservations for them for hawaii for 4 nights and on top of that, make dinner reservations for their stay in las vegas nevada and also shows and also deliver flowers. Yes it is part of my job to please them, but, if you ask way too much of a favor you better tip us. we people in this kind of business work for tips.
I usually get $10.00 just by booking dinner reservations and just answering where the bathroom is. I mean not everyone tips but, if I they just asked for my service for 2 hours..and only get $5.00 it really sucks. sometimes i do not get anything at all from them.
thats it i am switching to be a waitress ..We get tons of people from UK and Europe. I am just in the wrong field then.
Well in the U.K and europe the tip is Always included in the bill its common standards there to tip waiters and such are highly respected and so the tips are included in the bill weather the customer likes it or not lol
so they might not realize that their even making a mistake by not tipping you and figuring that the tip is included in the bill
it would be hard to explain to them with out being rude that the tip is not included in the bill but its how you make your living so i would at least try and if they get offended for w/e reason o well right live and learn lol
Which is better, Maui or the Big Island of Hawaii…. lI’m looking for these "dream vacation" kind of things…
-white, white sands & turquoise water
-safe swimming
-romance/intimacy & beautiful sunsets
-horseback to a waterfall would be nice
-plenty of water activities (surfing, snorkeling, parasailing, kayaking)
-plantations like coffee or pineapple
-four wheeler (quad) tours
-not so busy or crowded (not looking for city stuff)
-accomodations with the classic "hammock out front your door" thing
Any thoughts???
Kauai! That’s where I live and it has all of those things you are looking for! If not, then I guess Maui, but definitely not the Big Island, on the Kona side it is really city-like… we call it kona-fornia ;P and the hilo side isn’t very beachy, there’s lots of rocks and stuff, but that’s where the volcano is, and it’s pretty cool to see that.
But if you do end up going to kauai then some good beaches are Hanalei bay which is on the north shore, or Poipu beach which is on the south shore. For sunsets you’d have to go to the south shore there’s a really nice ‘romantic’ restaurantnt over looking the ocean and you can see the sunset from there. There’s lots of fun activities, horseback riding, atv’ing, zip lining, and there’s this really awesome tour that takes you inner-tubing through the old plantation irrigationion ditches through caves and stuff. Not crowded at all, pretty friendly really green! Some good hotels are Marriott’s Waiohai Beach Club, The Villas at Poipu Kai, Castle Kiahuna Plantation & Beach Bungalows (one of my favorites, right on the beach!)
I hope that helps you :]
My boyfriend wants to go to Hawaii for out honeymoon in a few months, but neither of us have ever been or know anyone who has. I want to go to a place that has nice accomodations, but I want there to be lots of natural beauty to go see, and not many people. Is all of Hawaii Crowded from tourist, or are there some places that’s not. Also, are the people nice. Thanks
Oahu = most urban, but quiet parts on north shore.
Kauaii = Most jungle-like. (Filmed Jurassic Park there)
Maui = Middle of the road (think whaling village and condos)
Molokai = Farm community-ish (very low tourism)
Lanai = very small community, (very low tourism)
Big Island = Volcanos
On my first trip years ago, did Kauaii, Oahu, Maui and Hawaii. Always recommend to everyone they do these four, but you need 2 weeks and you will not be rested. This is more of an adventure vacation.

Whether you’re going to work or Hawaii, after how many hours do you decide that your dog(s) need a doggie daycare, kennel, pet sitter or other accomodations?
Of course, this varies depending on your living situation and individual dog. For example, a 1-year-old Border Collie left alone in an apartment may need a daycare or dog-sitter after a few hours while an owner of a Great Pyrenees living on a ranch may leave the dog overnight or longer (with proper food and care).
Good question.
My fiance and I leave them alone for the day while we are at work (between 6-9 hours). They get one day of doggy day care a week (any more is just too expensive with 2 dogs and a 3rd about to start going after getting spayed). Other than that, they are NEVER left alone. If we need to go somewhere together on the weekend, my sister comes over to be with them.
Call them spoiled… I just feel too bad leaving them alone as much as I do already.
l really want to move to Hawaii soon but l have limited resources and l would need to find a job fast, l’ve heard that l can find a job in a farm live in the farm and work there a few hours a day in exchange for the living accomodation. What is that pracise called (working in exchange of living accomodations?) What is the best lsland to find that? Any advice would be helpful.
Finding a job is hard if its outside Oahu on other islands. The economy is really hurt. the job market is about who you know, not what you know. so make friends. Oahu has a lot of jobs, but the cost of living is really expensive!

I won a vaca for 2 nights. I know this is not long enough to fully enjoy everything there is to see but I am still planning on using the voucher. It comes with airfare and hotel accomodations. Has anybody used one of these things? What kind of hotel/motel do they stick you in?
Are you sure it’s not a scam. And yes two nights isn’t a long time to see and experience the island.
This two-bedroom, two bath has an open floor plan and gives it the feeling of a penthouse. Living room and kitchen are sunken with a large spacious deck with a totally unobstructed view of the beach and ocean. The upstairs bedroom is a large loft that overlooks the lower level. Bed/breadfast is fine. Will not have car. Any help with decent hotel or mode of local transportation would be appreciated.
You’re gonna want to get a car. Trust me…everything on Maui is far away, and there’s not really valid public transportation.
There are a few tours you can do that will pick you up. For example, if you want to see sunrise at Haleakala, the shuttles will come to your hotel at 2 AM. However, if you want to go to Molokini, you’ll need to be at the Kihei boatramp at about 6 AM, and there’s no one to help you get there.
I have found that staying in a condo is a good way to keep the budget low. This allows for you to cook your own meals, as well as mix your own drinks, which obviously can save money. In the past, we have enjoyed the ResortQuest Paki Maui (the garden view there is excellent), the Outrigger Napili Shores (great macadamia nut pineapple pancakes for breakfast) and most recently the Outrigger Royal Kahana (best vacation EVER!). All of these have been budget vacations, but obviously I don’t know what your budget includes!
If you really want to go without a car, I would recommend that you stay in one of three locations…These would be Kihei, Lahaina or Kaanapali. Kihei is where most of the boat trips launch, so it’s good to be nearby…there are also quite a few inexpensive hotels there, so it can be a good option. Lahaina is the city on the northwest coast…there’s a lot to do in town, but access to many of the tours is not available…you can catch the ferries to Molokai and Lanai there. Kaanapali is north of Lahaina, and really is just a resort location…the key here is that there are so many resorts all stuck together, that you can essentially walk to any of the stores or restaurants that you might like to see…also, it has one of the best beaches on the island.
Have a super time! Maui no ka oi!!!

I live on Oahu and will be traveling with my 8 lb dog in a few weeks to an outer island (possibly Lania, Maui, or Molokai). Need to know where to find pet-friendly hotels. Internet searches haven’t given me much info yet.
Bruddah:
1) Go to www.craigslist.com.
2) Click on Honolulu.
3) Click on Housing.
4) When you get to this screen, find and click the box labeled "Dogs"
5) You’ll get a listing of all the available establishments that will allow dogs on the premises. All you need to do from here is to search by your island of choice.
Aloha & Shaka Brud!
My friends and I are going to Oahu. We are all set with accomodations, we rented a condo and split the cost. I’m just wondering how much to bring for food costs. Is dining out in Hawaii more expensive? What is the sales tax in Hawaii right now? We also want surfing lessons, what is a reasonable price? And if anyone knows of any fun attractions and activities, please let me know. Thanks!
Well if your going to Hawai’i on vacation you shouldn’t be thinking about saving money because it’s not possible. The cost of living here is ridiculous enough, but as a haole(tourist) it’s even worst. I am just guessing that your staying in Waikiki, so a meal at Mcdonalds there is $7.80 compared to $4.50 in the states. Surf lessons are all along the Waikiki beach line at the surf stand that you can’t miss. The cost is $50 for a 1 1/2 hour lesson. Reason I know this is my husband use to work on the beach at the surf stands. That’s as reasonable as it gets. I know it probably hard to deal with but Hawai’i is not a cheap place to visit or live. There are a lot of things to do in Hawai’i! Hiking up Diamond Head, Snorkeling at Hanauma Bay, and around the Island drives when the sun sets. The only way to enjoy yourself to the fullest is not worry about the spending. Good luck to you and much Aloha.
